A stolen, specialized van belonging to a Etobicoke quadriplegic has been found.

The van was found Tuesday afternoon, a day after it was taken from the woman's driveway.

"The people that have it: Just park it somewhere. Tell the authorities. Just bring it back to us, even if it's damaged a little bit," Brenda Baird pleaded with the thieves Monday through an interview with CTV Toronto.

Several years ago, Charles Baird, Brenda's husband of 36 years, bought the van, which is specially designed to accommodate his wife's needs.

"From the chest down, I can't feel. My hands are paralyzed, my legs are paralyzed," the wheelchair-bound woman said.

"This is our way out -- to get going to a doctor, the grocery store, shopping, anything in that way."

On Monday, Charles had to phone her with the bad news, telling her someone stole the van over the noon hour.

"I was angry. Just that anybody would do that to him," Brenda said. "It's to both of us, but it takes him a lot to take care of me."

Police say the 1996 dark purple Ford Windstar had been used in a few break-and-enters.

"To take somebody's legs and lifeline away is unheard of. my plea is to please give us our lifeline back," Charles said.
