Toronto police have lifted a lockdown outside of Scarborough's Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute.

Shots were fired at a vehicle, parked outside the high school near Lawrence Avenue East and Kennedy Road, shortly before 1 p.m.

Police say the 16-year-old shooter, a student at the school, got into an argument with four males inside the van. After the suspect fired on them, a single bullet hole could be seen in the vehicle, but no injuries were reported.

Sixty-one security cameras around the school helped police immediately identify the suspect, officers said. Police are still searching for the suspect and officers are calling him armed and dangerous.

The lockdown lasted two and a half hours. An elementary school across the street was also placed in a "hold and secure" mode Thursday afternoon.
