Police search for occupants of vehicle who fled after collision in Scarborough

Toronto police are looking for the occupants of a vehicle who fled following a collision in Scarborough Friday night.
It happened at the intersection of Birchmount Road and Lawrence Avenue East just after 7:45 p.m.
Police say a vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and collided with another vehicle.
“The occupants of the suspect vehicle fled, and a perimeter was set up for a search of the area to be completed,” Toronto police spokesperson Const. Stephanie Miceli told CP24.
Meanwhile, one occupant of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said a firearm was recovered at the scene. No information about the outstanding occupants has been released.
The circumstances that led to the collision are not immediately known.
Police have advised the public that they have a large presence in the area for the investigation.
