Police probing Mount Dennis-area suspicious death

Toronto police are investigating after they were called to an apartment in the city's west end where a woman was found dead early Tuesday morning.

Police were called to an apartment building at 65 Emmett Ave., in the Eglinton Ave. and Jane St. area shortly after 5:30 a.m. Officers arrived to find a woman without vital signs.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her cause of death hasn't been revealed.

Detectives from 12 Division have cordoned the scene as they try to determine what happened. They are treating the woman's death as "suspicious."

CTV Toronto's Tamara Cherry reports that a man believed to be the victim's boyfriend was taken away by police for questioning.
