Police lay second-degree murder charge in St. Catharines death

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. -- Police have made an arrest in a suspicious death in St. Catharines, Ont.
In a statement Sunday night, the Niagara Regional Police Service says a 36-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Glenn Joseph Hewer.
He's being held in custody pending a bail hearing Monday morning.
Police received a call early Friday about an injured man lying on a sidewalk .
He was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they won't be releasing the results of a post-mortem.
