Toronto Police are on the hunt for the elusive “Mummy Bandit” following the robber’s eleventh suspected heist in the last nine months.

Investigators say the latest robbery took place at an RBC branch on Broadview Avenue, just south of Danforth Avenue, on Friday afternoon.

Police say the suspect entered the bank armed with a handgun and threatened several bank employees before taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The bandit's first heist took place in October, when police say he robbed a Toronto-area bank at gunpoint while wearing a scarf around his face, earning him the famous nickname.

Police believe the “Mummy Bandit” has hit more than 10 banks across Toronto, focusing mostly on the Trinity-Bellwood neighbourhood.

Police have connected the bandit to a robbery at a bank near King Street West and Strachan Avenue on June 1 and a heist near Yonge and Carlton Streets in March.

Investigators warn that the suspect has become more violent and has stopped wearing a disguise.

The suspect is described as a male, between 20 to 30 years of age, around 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-10. Police say the suspect walks with a distinct gait.

Anyone with information is urged to call the holdup squad at 416- 808-7350 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
