Police have arrested two people after a Toronto man was shot on the East Mall Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene to find a man in his late-teens or early-20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, outside a townhouse complex near Rathburn Road and Highway 427, shortly after 1:30 p.m.

The victim was shot at least twice, once in the groin and once in the torso, and was rushed to Sunnybrook hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they arrested two people who have been charged with multiple robbery and firearm charges.

Police said they are not looking for any other suspects in connection with the shooting.

A nearby school went into precautionary "hold and secure" mode following the incident.
