BRADFORD, Ont. -- Police have arrested a man sought in a fatal stabbing last week in Newmarket, north of Toronto.

South Simcoe police say a suspect was located Wednesday in an apartment in nearby Bradford in a combined operation with York region police.

John Jansen, 38, was wanted on a charge of first-degree murder after a double stabbing one week ago. The Bradford resident will appear in court Thursday.

York Regional Police say 65-year-old Ronidy Roseborough, of Newmarket, died from wounds sustained in the stabbing, while a second male was hospitalized.

Investigators say a female also in the apartment has been arrested and "will be investigated."

They have said witnesses reported that a total of three suspects may have fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV after the incident.
