Toronto police say an 86-year-old woman is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle at Lower Jarvis Street and The Esplanade.
Police initially reported the woman as a cyclist, but they later confirmed she was not on a bicycle when she was hit by the vehicle.
She was rushed to a trauma centre with serious injuries at about 10 a.m.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
The intersection is closed for an investigation, and Lower Jarvis Street is closed south of Front Street.
