BARRIE, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police say the remains of three people were found in a burned-out car north of Barrie Friday morning.

Firefighters and emergency crews made the discovery while responding to a car fire around 5:30 a.m. (on Holick Road north of the 4th line of the Oro-Medonte Township).

Police say the bodies were found in a "charred" car and there is no way to know the possible gender or ages of the people inside.

Police also don't know how the fire started.

The bodies have been taken to the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto for post-mortems.

The criminal investigation branch of the OPP continues to investigate.
