TORONTO - The McGuinty government is providing funding for an Internet safety program to better protect children from online dangers.

The Cyber-Cops Air Dogs program is getting $1 million from the province to supply the bilingual software to schools and police detachments across the province.

The software includes a training program for teachers and interactive games for Grade 7 and 8 students.

The games are designed to educate kids about the dangers of cyber-theft, extortion and Internet luring.

Community Safety Minister Monte Kwinter and Education Minister Kathleen Wynne made the funding announcement at an east-end Toronto school.

Another $250,000 grant is going to the Internet Safety Alliance -- a group dedicated to eliminating the online sexual exploitation of children.
