Occupy protestors blocked downtown streets Friday evening in what they said was a march against police brutality.

A group of about 50 people gathered at 52 Division headquarters on Dundas Street and marched towards College Street.

They blocked traffic at Younge and College Streets for a time before reaching police headquarters on College Street shortly before 8 p.m.

The protestors have been opposing what they say was an incident of police brutality on April 30 when police officers arrested four people who were camped out on the lawn at Osgood Hall.

During the arrest, Angela Turvey, 36, suffered a fractured eye socket and a broken nose.

Police said the arrests came after they asked the protesters to remove their tents twice. They had to forcibly remove the group after they didn't comply, police said.

The Special Investigations Unit has been called upon to look into the circumstances around Turvey's injuries.

Two more protesters were arrested last Sunday during another Occupy protest. They were charged with mischief and interfering with traffic.
