Toronto police will lay second-degree murder charges in the fatal stabbing of a man last weekend.
Andre Paquet, 45, was attacked during an argument in the hallway of his apartment building at 17 Edgewood Ave., in the Kingston Road and Dundas Street East area, on Sunday morning.
Paquet was pronounced dead at hospital. An autopsy showed the cause of death was a stab wound to the chest.
Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for 44-year-old Joseph King in connection with the slaying.
On Wednesday night, police responded to a call for a fight in the Dundas Street West and Coxwell Avenue area.
Officers located King, who was found suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital and remains under police guard.
Police say King will be charged with second-degree murder upon his release.
