Tracy Tong delivers breaking news and live updates on Toronto’s top stories of the day as a general assignment reporter for CTV News Toronto, Canada’s most-watched local newscast team.
Throughout her career, Tong has covered a variety of breaking and general assignment news in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as in Southern and Northern Ontario. She has reported on numerous municipal, provincial and federal elections, high-profile crime stories including the Tim Bosma murder, and local response to international events such as the June 2016 Orlando Shooting and the Paris Attacks. She also covered Rio 2016 events from CTV's national Olympic Desk.
Before working at CTV News Toronto, Tong was an on-air reporter with CP24, CityNews Toronto, CTV News Kitchener, CTV Northern Ontario, and Rogers TV. Tong began her career in the Global Toronto newsroom after graduating from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Journalism degree.
In addition to her reporting talents, Tong is a classically trained pianist and taught piano for years. She is the recipient of the 2012 RTDNA Central Canada Dave Rogers Award for Best Short Feature.
