Nick Dixon keeps Torontonians up to date as an anchor and reporter for CP24 and co-anchor of Live at 5 and CP24 Tonight.

He also joined CTV News Toronto from October 2018 to June 2020 as an anchor for the station’s weekend newscasts and a general assignment videojournalist covering the top stories of the day.

Throughout his career, Dixon has reported on some of the biggest stories in Canada and around the world. In 2014, he covered the shootings at Ottawa’s Parliament Hill, and delivered special coverage on the first anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, interviewing several runners who witnessed the blasts. Dixon reported on the Papal Conclave from Vatican City in 2013, and travelled twice to Haiti in 2010 to reveal the aftermath of the devastating earthquake, where he reported on OPERATION-HESTIA, the Canadian Forces’ humanitarian response to the tragedy.

Prior to joining CP24, Dixon spent more than a decade with Hamilton’s CHCH as an anchor/producer for the station’s evening and late-night newscasts. Previously, he worked for Global News Toronto (2001-2004), where he worked his way up through the newsroom to the role of Queen’s Park Reporter, following a stint with Rogers Cable in York Region.

Dixon earned a degree in Political Science from McMaster University in 1997 and quickly decided to pursue his passion for journalism. He graduated from Humber College’s journalism program in 2002, and was awarded the Norman Depoe Scholarship, given to journalism students who show the most promise in the industry. Today, he continues to work with Humber College on its Journalism Advisory Panel.
