TORONTO - A 22-year-old Montreal man is the latest person charged in the investigation into vandalism at the G20 summit in Toronto.

Youri Couture faces six charges, including assaulting a police officer, disguise with intent and weapons dangerous.

Police allege that during the G20 summit, Couture smashed the windows of a coffee shop, causing more than $18,000 in damages.

Police also allege he assaulted a police officer with a weapon during the meeting of world leaders in late June.

An investigative team is still gathering evidence in an effort to bring charges against people who used the summit protests to commit vandalism.

Also on Thursday, the Crown decided to drop charges of conspiracy to commit a criminal act that had been laid against 30 Quebecers at the G20.

A lack of evidence was cited as the reason.

The protesters were among a group of 100 who travelled to Toronto for the summit and were arrested at a University of Toronto gymnasium.
