Two drivers were not injured when their tow trucks were shot at two hours apart in Scarborough Saturday night.

Toronto police were first called to the area of Markham Road and Highway 401 shortly after 8 p.m. for a shooting.

Police said someone from a vehicle reportedly fired shots at a tow truck.

About two hours later, around 10:20 p.m., police responded to a similar incident involving another tow truck near Markham Road and Finch Avenue East.

In both incidents, police said officers found evidence of gunfire in the tow trucks.

The drivers were in their trucks when gunfire erupted, but the two escaped unscathed, police said.

When asked if the two incidents were connected, police said they were being investigated separately at this time.

No suspect information or vehicle description has been released.
