Peel Regional Police say an 18-year-old Mississauga man has died following an incident involving a GO Train.

Const. Wayne Patterson told ctvtoronto.ca on Saturday that the situation has become murkier.
One investigator told him the victim and two friends were on the westbound GO train and got off at Clarkson station, he said.

"Then, something happened," Patterson said. "There's either an accident, or they were up to something that they shouldn't have been."

The incident happened almost at the end of the platform.

Polices still don't know how the victim became injured. "Was he pinned between the platform and the train? Did he fall? We're trying to resolve all those things," he said.

Patterson said they have spoken to some witnesses and are trying to reach others. Any other witnesses are asked to call 905-453-2121, ext. 3710.

They won't be releasing the name of the victim, he said.

The call came into police at about 12:20 p.m. near the station, which is close to Royal Windsor Drive and Southdown Road.

Police found the victim just past the far west end of the platform.

Paramedics determined the victim, while conscious and breathing, had very serious injuries and called for an air ambulance.

The victim was transported to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, but died sometime before 4 p.m.

Early reports suggested a GO Train had struck the victim, but that hasn't been confirmed.

The GO Transit website said all trains are now operating normally.
