A 19-year-old man is in good condition after spending the night in the woods in Caledon, Ont. but he may have to answer to his angry parents who spent the night frantically searching for the teen.

Richard Williams was found safe by Ontario Provincial Police after a 15-hour search that stretched through the night. He was found just before 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Williams went missing after going on a hike in Palgrave Forest with his father Thursday afternoon. At around 4:30 p.m., the two men decided to take separate routes and meet in a designated area after an hour.

When Williams failed to show up, his father called police.

The teen told police Friday that he ventured back into the woods after his dad was late meeting him in the designated area. When he couldn't find his father, Williams set up camp near a hydro pole, making a small fire so that he could stay warm overnight.

In the morning, he ventured out of the bushes and found the officers that were looking for him.

There were a few tense moments during the search, which was led by Caledon OPP's canine unit, the emergency response team and platoon members.

At one point police found a single shoe in the woods. Authorities sent out a news release saying Williams was not wearing a coat and had no supplies to prepare him for an overnight trip in the woods.
