Police are investigating after a man posing as a dog trainer allegedly stole a 5-month-old puppy from a midtown Toronto park.

A man who advertised his services on Kijiji met up with a female prospective client at Sunnybrook Park at about 1 p.m. on June 5.

The pair had a brief conversation at the park at Bayview Avenue and Blythwood Road. Police say the man then grabbed the woman's puppy and ran away, fleeing the scene in a navy-blue pickup truck.

Toronto police said the dog is a black male Cane Corso with a white patch on his chest.

The suspect is described as brown, about 6-feet tall, with short, dark hair and possible acne scars. He is estimated to be between the ages of 25 and 30, and was last seen wearing dark clothing.
