Toronto police have arrested and charged a 22-year-old man in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in the city’s east end last month.
According to police, a 22-year-old woman was followed by a man after leaving a nightclub in the Eglinton Avenue East and Oswego Road area on April 28.
Police say the man then grabbed the woman’s purse and forced her to a secluded area where she was sexually assaulted.
The man fled the scene on foot following the assault.
On Friday, police arrested a man in connection with their investigation.
The suspect, identified by police Anthony Robertson, faces four charges, including sexual assault and robbery.
He is scheduled to appear in court on May 21.
Police believe there may be more victims.
