PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- A former employee of a long-term care home in Peterborough is facing charges after allegedly stealing fentanyl patches off one of the residents.

Police say the 39-year-old woman had knowledge of how to access the home from her time working there, though was on conditions to stay away from the property.

They say she broke into a resident's room at the home on two separate occasions and took the patch off the resident's body.

Kathleen Campbell is now facing four charges, including two counts of breaking and entering.

She is scheduled to appear in court later today.
