The Toronto Maple Leafs are investigating a "minor altercation" involving forward Mikhail Grabovski at a Vancouver bar early Saturday morning.

Leafs president and general manager, Brian Burke, said in a statement that the club was aware of reports on the incident.

"Since we are presently investigating this matter, the team will not provide any further comment at this time," the statement reads.

Grabovski was taken into police custody following the incident, TSN reported. He was later released.

The National Hockey League is aware of the matter, according to the network, but will not take any action until it has gathered more information from Vancouver police.

Grabovski is an injured member of the Belarussian hockey team at the Vancouver Olympic Games.

Police said they responded to a "fight call" that involved a number of people on Pacific Boulevard at around 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

They confirmed one person was arrested and later released, but did not reveal the person's identity.

A police investigation is underway. No charges have been laid.
