The jury in the case of two young men accused of slaying teenager Jordan Manners went on a field trip Friday to visit the scene of the crime.

No images of the jurors out on the trip to C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute can be shown.

CTV Toronto's Austin Delaney reported that the jurors arrived in a large, white bus with police cruisers blocking off street access to the school, located at 340 Sentinel Rd. That is southwest of the intersection of Keele Street and Finch Avenue West.

The judge and the two accused are also present.

The jurors looked around at the crime scene and asked questions before they returned to the courthouse.

On May 23, 2007, Manners was seen speaking and laughing with the two accused in his death.

At some point, the Crown alleges one of the accused raised his arm. Immediately afterwards, the 15-year-old Manners slumped to the floor of a second-floor stairwell.

A second accused is alleged to have rifled through his pockets.

No one heard a shot, but a bullet ended up piercing Manners' heart and one of his lungs.

The Crown alleges that the accused J.W.  fired the shot, while C.D. frisked the dying Manners for valuables.

Both accused, who were 17 when charged with first-degree murder, cannot be fully named due to provisions in the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Their jury heard opening arguments on Feb. 3. The trial is expected to last about two months, with up to 40 witnesses expected to testify.
