Police are looking for a Good Samaritan who helped a partygoer who was fatally stabbed in Pickering, Ont. last week.

The stabbing occurred at a home on Glenanna Road, in the area of Finch Avenue and Dixie Road, at approximately 2:35 a.m. on July 2.

Durham Regional Police said Dionecio "Deshane" Nelson, 25, left a house party in the area, then became involved in some type of altercation with two other men.

The altercation escalated into a physical confrontation and Nelson was stabbed. The suspects then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police said a Good Samaritan helped the victim while they waited for emergency crews to arrive. They have not released a description of the male pedestrian, but said they'd like to speak to him.

Nelson succumbed to his injuries after the stabbing.

Officers said the suspects are still outstanding. The driver of the vehicle has been described as a black male, aged 18 to 24, with a dark complexion and muscular build. He is approximately 6-foot-4 with a chin-strap beard, dark afro hairstyle, and was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants and a ball cap at the time.

The second suspect, a passenger, has been described as a black male with a light complexion, aged 18 to 24 and between 5-foot6 and 5-foot-8. He has a medium build and an afro hairstyle, and was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants and a New Era ball cap at the time of the shooting.

The suspects were seen fleeing the scene northbound in a 2001 to 2005 four-door silver Honda Civic.
