TORONTO - A civilian review is moving into the next stage of its probe of last summer's G20 summit in Toronto.
The review held public hearings earlier this month and says it will now work on obtaining internal documents from Toronto police.
The review says a number of people and organizations offered insight on the role of civilian oversight in the policing of major events.
The review says it will continue to accept written submissions from the public until July 13.
In addition, the review has been examining thousands of documents in order to identify which are relevant and require further review.
The Independent Civilian Review into Matters Relating to the G20 Summit was launched by the Toronto Police Services Board on Sept. 23, 2010, as an independent, arms-length entity to examine issues concerning the role the board played in policing the G20.
