KAPUSKASING, Ont. - Funerals are being held in Kapuskasing, Ont., today and Wednesday for two employees of forest products company Tembec Inc.
Dan Simis, 47, of Val Rita, Ont., and Chad McQuade, 37, of Kapuskasing, were killed in a helicopter crash last Wednesday near Clear Lake in a remote area of northern Ontario.
The pilot, Greg Sawyer, 39, of North Bay, Ont., also died in the crash about 25 kilometres south of Kapuskasing. There were no survivors.
Tembec employees across the country will stop for a moment of silence at the start of the funerals for Simis and McQuade.
The company has a regional office in Kapuskasing.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating.
