TORONTO - The long weekend is proving deadly for motorists on Ontario highways.
So far, five people have died on roads patrolled by provincial police, and there's still a day to go.
One person was killed Friday afternoon in a crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer near Orangeville.
Another died that night when a car collided with a train in Rainy River.
On Saturday, two people died in a head-on crash near Campbellford, and a pedestrian was killed while crossing Highway 417 in Ottawa.
Last Victoria Day weekend, four people were killed in three separate collisions on OPP-patrolled roads.
