DUNGANNON, Ont. -- Provincial police are warning of the dangers of so-called "couchsurfing" after three people were injured in an incident about 120 kilometres north of London, Ont.

They say officers responding to a collision call on Sunday determined that a lawn tractor had been towing a utility trailer with a couch in the box.

OPP say eight people were seated on the couch and in the trailer, and all of them -- plus the driver -- were thrown when the driver lost control and the trailer and couch rolled into a ditch.

They say three people sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The other six were not injured.

The 23-year-old driver is charged with driving while ability impaired, driving over 80 milligrams, dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and dangerous operation of motor vehicle.

He is to appear in court in Goderich, Ont., on Aug. 22.
