A man found dead in an industrial garbage bin in the city's portlands area was convicted more than a decade ago for his role in one of Toronto's biggest armoured car heists, reports say.

Andre Pelliccione posed as a police officer when he and four others robbed a Loomis truck on Aug. 31, 1995, the Toronto Star reports.

The crew made off with $3.1 million, about $125,000 of which went to Pelliccione.

He was back on the street in 2006 after serving about eight years in prison for his role in the robbery.

Pelliccione, 42, was found beaten to death Wednesday in a garbage bin outside a trailer near Lakeshore Ave. East and Cherry St.

Police descended on the area early that morning and found a bloodied trailer, evidence of what they believed to be a crime scene.

A lawyer called detectives at 51 Division late Tuesday evening after a client told him they could find a body in that area.

However, it took detectives some time to locate the body.

An autopsy confirmed blunt force facial and head trauma as the cause of death.

On Friday afternoon, police issued an arrest warrant for a man in connection with the slaying.

Police are looking for Chad Noureddine, 28, and are also seeking a man they only know as Brian.

Brian is known to frequent the Dundas St. East and Sherbourne St. area. He has a tanned complexion and has a prominent scar that runs from the bottom of his left ear down to the corner of his mouth.

So far, three people have been charged in connection with the case.

Richard Alex Sheridan, 46, Jennifer Dunsford, 30, and Michelle Sterling, 24, have been charged with first-degree murder.
