A child remains hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Brampton on Saturday afternoon, police say.

Peel Regional Police said a transport truck and a car crashed at the intersection of Mayfield and Torbram roads at around 5:30 p.m.

Paramedics told CTV News Toronto they brought a woman and two children to the hospital. One child has critical injuries, paramedics said, and the other two were believed to have serious injuries.

On Sunday, police said the woman and one child have been discharged from the hospital while the other child remains in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the transport truck driver was uninjured.

The roads were closed for police investigation but have since reopened.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-453-2121, ext. 3710.
