TORONTO - A Toronto taxi driver is dead following an early morning crash on Hwy. 427.
Ontario Provincial Police say the accident happened just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning after the taxi broke down in a southbound lane.
The taxi driver was outside his vehicle waiting for police when a GMC Envoy slammed into the cab from behind.
The taxi driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
