TIVERTON, Ont. - Workers at the Bruce nuclear generating station in Tiverton, Ont., are helping those who work at the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan.

Bruce Power and its employees raised more than $80,000 during a two hour campaign Tuesday morning at the plant about 60 kilometres southwest of Owen Sound.

A site-wide gate collection raised $41,000 and Bruce Power matched the employees donations.

The figure is expected to rise as employees have until Friday to contribute.

Bruce Power spokesman John Peevers says the money will go directly to the workers of the Fukushima plant in Japan and their families.
