Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of an 18-year-old man gunned down outside a school for adults earlier this week.

Jeremy Paul of Toronto died outside Burnhamthorpe Collegiate around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. An autopsy revealed he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say they have charged a man but are withholding his name and details of the charge for investigative reasons.

Paul had just left the school, which is an adult learning centre, when the shooting occurred. Investigators said the killing was "intentional."

The shooting was part of a violent and bloody week in Toronto that left several people dead in separate incidents.

A man was found dead at an apartment building in the Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East area around 2:30 a.m. He was found unconscious with serious head injuries and later died in hospital.

On Tuesday, firefighters found the lifeless body of Tito Benjamin, 29, in his Cabbagetown apartment where he had been shot.

A day earlier, Allen Benn, 20, was stabbed to death outside an apartment in the Jane and Finch area. Police launched a search for as many as six men believed to be involved in that slaying.
