TORONTO - A second man faces a murder charge in Toronto's first homicide of 2010.

On January 2, correctional staff at the Don Jail found 24-year-old Kevon Phillip suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

Phillip was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

Police charged 22-year-old Said Mohamed of Toronto with second-degree murder last week.

Police say Nathaniel Grant of Toronto was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder.

The 25-year-old Grant is to appear in court on April 14.

After Phillip's death, the New Democrats called on the government to move quickly to end dangerous overcrowding conditions that are leading to violence at the jail.

The Don Jail is slated to close in 2012 and the inmates will be moved to the Toronto South Detention Centre, which is under construction.
