Yorkdale Shopping Centre will undergo a $220-million expansion that will add 40 new stores to the mall.
The renovation will add around 145,000 square feet to the mall, including a doubling of an "open air" food court on the third floor.
With the new space, the mall will also add 800 underground parking spaces and a new valet service.
Among the other new additions is a 65,000-square-foot "green" roof designed to lessen the environmental impact of the mall, according to a press release.
Construction on the project, which is already underway, should finish in late 2012.
