Police have confirmed that a woman is dead after being struck by a bus near the Lawrence West subway station on Saturday morning.
The woman, 65, was hit around 10:30 a.m. Saturday and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say they have video footage of the woman crossing the street from the north to the south. It’s not yet clear whether she obeyed her signal.
Police say the 34-year-old driver of the bus is “emotionally traumatized.”
A coroner is on site and police are in the process of notifying the victim’s next-of-kin.
Lawrence Ave. W. was closed from Marlee Ave. to Allen Road but reopened around 3 p.m.
