A 66-year-old woman died Thursday morning following a collision between a car and a school bus in Toronto's west end.

The woman, who was a passenger in the sedan, was pronounced dead following the crash on Dixon Road near Islington Avenue shortly after 9 a.m.

According to police, a grey Toyota Camry was travelling eastbound on Dixon Road in the left turn lane and was in the process of turning north onto Islington Avenue when a school bus, which was westbound on Dixon Road, struck the Camry.

A TTC bus with approximately 40 passengers on board was hit by the school bus after the collision. No injuries were reported on that bus.

However, the drivers of both the Camry and the school bus were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The name of the victim was not released.
