Canada's only male giant panda celebrated its 7th birthday at the Toronto Zoo with a bamboo cake bigger than its body.
Da Mao was served a space-themed cake garnished with planets, stars and a crescent moon. The cake also featured a rocket ship with a cartoon panda peering from the window.
The cake was made of bamboo, biscuits and fruit, and was carefully picked apart by the lumbering giant.
The black-and-white bear is one of two pandas on loan to Canada from China for a period of 10 years.
Da Mao and female bear Er Shun will stay at the Toronto Zoo until 2018, when they will be moved to Calgary for a five-year stay.
