Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a 66-year-old man wanted for attempted murder after shots were fired in the Danforth Village area on Sunday.

A man went to a residence around Main Street and Danforth Avenue at 4:45 p.m., according to police.

A 29-year-old man was leaving the residence when the older man arrived to the scene. The suspect allegedly pointed a gun directly at the man and fired three shots before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

The man did not suffer from any gunshot injuries, according to Toronto police Const. Scott Mills. He said the man only had some scratches and scrapes from trying to run away.

The men were both tenants at a rooming house, Mills said. He is not sure what the dispute between them was about.

Police identified a suspect as Toronto resident Astrit Shkurta. He was described as having curly white hair with a medium build. He was also described as having two gold teeth. Police said he was wearing a red or orange T-shirt or vest and dark pants.

Anyone with information should contact police at 416-808-5400.
