ORILLIA, Ont. -- Provincial police have charged a Toronto man with child pornography offences after they allege he went to a hotel in Barrie, Ont., with a teenage girl.

Police say the suspect used fake names and pretended to represent modelling agencies online.

He allegedly presented himself to teenage girls as a hired photographer.

The investigation was launched after a number of girls in the area reported being contacted online by an unknown person.

Police say when the girls met with the accused, they were photographed for the purposes of child pornography and offered money in exchange for sexual services.

Hugh Alexander (Sandy) Thorburn, 49, was arrested on Friday.

He is charged with making and possessing child pornography, two counts of juvenile prostitution and two counts of Internet luring.
