Toronto police are asking for help identifying a suspect in a sexual assault, after two women were attacked in the downtown core Saturday night.

Police said that the first sexual assault took place at 5:42 p.m. Saturday, when a woman entered St. Patrick subway station and was sexually assaulted by a suspect from behind.

The second sexual assault took place at 6:40 p.m.

Officers said in a statement that a 22-year-old woman was walking in the area near the Rogers Centre, when she passed a male suspect on a flight of stairs and proceeded south on Rees Street. She was then violently attacked from behind and sexually assaulted.

Police said the woman screamed and the suspect fled on foot back in the direction of 1 Blue Jays Way.

Officers said they’re not sure if it’s the same suspect in both cases. However, the suspect descriptions in both cases match.

The suspect is described as white, between 5’8-5’10 tall, with a medium build. He is between 18-24 years of age, with shaggy blond hair. Police said he was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with grey graphics on it and blue jeans.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect from the photos or has any information is asked to call 416-808-5204 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
