Winter is showing no signs of slowing, as a storm is expected to roll into Southern Ontario Tuesday and Wednesday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Sunday warning of a low pressure system over West Texas that may intensify as it moves northeast over Southern Ontario, including Toronto and the GTA.

The agency said to expect “significant amounts of precipitation,” but there is uncertainty as to whether the storm will bring rain or snow.

Temperatures are predicted to hover near the freezing mark, the agency said.

Monday temperatures are expected to reach a high of 5 C under mainly cloudy skies, with a 70 per cent chance of flurries in the evening.
