From the looks of it, you would think winter arrived early in Toronto.

Fire crews were called to an airport hangar near Pearson International Airport on Saturday morning after a fire-suppression system malfunctioned, sending foam streaming into the air.

Crews were handed the job of pumping out two football fields worth of foam that had accumulated at the Air Transat hangar, located on Derry Road, after the system malfunctioned overnight.

The foam was comprised of 98-per-cent water and 2-per-cent flame retardant that is used to fight jet-fuel fires at Pearson.

No one was injured and crews are continuing to clear up the mess.
