TOP STORIES:

  • Toronto Police are set to hold a news conference at 10:30AM, announcing a reward for information that would lead to an arrest in the murder of Jelena Loncar who was shot outside C Lounge nightclub on August 26, 2014.
  • A 26-year-old cyclist sustained serious injuries following a hit-and-run near McLaughlin Road and Steeles Avenue late last night. Police are searching for the driver of a red hatchback vehicle seen fleeing the scene.
  • Police continue to investigate after three people were killed and another person was sent to hospital following a crossbow attack near Lawndale and Argos Roads in Scarborough yesterday afternoon. The case is also linked to a suspicious package found in a condo near the Toronto Harbourfront.

TRAFFIC WOES:

  • All westbound lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard East from Carlaw Avenue to west of Leslie Street will be closed 6:30AM-4:00PM due to emergency TTC track inspection and road repairs.
  • Northbound and southbound curb lanes will be occupied on Birchmount Road from Lawrence Avenue East to Eglinton Avenue East due to road repairs, expected to wrap up today at 7:00PM.

AROUND TOWN:

  • The Toronto Vegetarian Association takes over Trinity Bellwoods Park to kick off Veg Food Fest with a picnic, beginning at 12:00PM.
  •  The 2nd annual Tamil Festival takes place on Markham Road from McNicholl to Passmore Avenue beginning at 10:00AM today and running until Sunday evening. Road closures will be in place in the area.
