Toronto police have released security images of a suspect wanted following an unprovoked assault in which a man was pushed onto the subway tracks in the city’s east end early Sunday morning.
According to police, the victim was waiting on the westbound platform at Main Station when he was approached from behind and shoved onto the tracks at around 1 a.m.
The suspect then boarded the next westbound train.
The victim was able to cross to the eastbound tracks where he was helped onto the eastbound platform by other commuters.
The victim was not injured in the assault, police said.
On Monday, police released a number of still images of a suspect captured by security cameras.
He is described as being in his 50s, five-foot-seven to five-foot-nine, approximately 165 pounds, with greying-black hair parted on the left side.
He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with a design on the front, a black jacket, dark-coloured pants, western-style boots, and carrying plastic grocery bags.
