The hunt is on for the shooters -- and the victim -- involved in a gunfire exchange in the city's west end late Thursday night.
The shootout in the Englemount-Lawrence neighbourhood left at least one person with serious injuries but Toronto police haven’t been able to locate the reported victim.
The shooting happened along Lawrence Avenue West at 11:53 p.m., police said.
Witnesses told police up to 10 gunshots were heard. Police say people may have been firing at each other from two different vehicles. The vehicles, which at one point, collided with each other, were described as a black Lexus SUV and a white Toyota Camry.
Investigators located the Lexus which crashed as a result of the shooting. The car jumped the curb and crashed into the hedges on Shermount Avenue. The front passenger window was riddled with bullet holes.
Someone at the scene -- a 29-year-old man -- was taken into custody for questioning.
Police are still looking for the second vehicle involved, which they believe also sustained damage.
