BURLINGTON, Ont. - Halton Regional Police have charged a Burlington man in connection with three alleged break-ins in which electronics were stolen and two women were sexually assaulted while they slept.

Police say the break-ins occurred at three units of a townhouse complex (on Glendor Ave.) in Burlington, Ont., early Saturday morning.

They say a man entered a unit through an unlocked window and stole movies, a videogame console and videogames before moving on to another unit through an unlocked sliding door.

Once in the second unit, police say the man entered a bedroom where a woman was sleeping and began to touch her as she slept before she awoke and screamed, causing him to flee.

Police say the man then entered another unit through an unlocked door and stole cigarettes and prescription drugs, before again entering the bedroom and touching a woman while she slept. The woman awoke and began screaming, which police say caused the man to flee the townhouse for the second time.

Police say 21-year-old Serage Arbad has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and three counts of break and enter. He is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing.
