WHITBY, Ont. - Provincial police say a 25-year-old Ajax, Ont., man has died after being struck while walking across Highway 401.
Officers say the man was hit Saturday night in the eastbound lanes of the highway (near Brock Street) in Whitby, Ont.
Police say witnesses told them that the man was walking from the north side of the highway to the south side when he was hit by a pickup truck.
The victim has been identified as Thomas Pedersen.
The collision is under investigation.
