Toronto police say speed likely caused an accident late Sunday night that resulted in a car slamming into a storefront.

Police allege the driver of the black Volvo was travelling north on Oakwood Avenue at a high rate of speed at around 10:45 p.m.

The vehicle spun out of control as the driver turned onto Eglinton Avenue. The car crashed through a glass window and some fencing as it slammed into a building at 1588 Eglinton.

None of the four occupants inside the car were injured in the accident. No one was inside the store at the time.

Police did not reveal the names or ages of the driver and passengers but said they don't believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Traffic in the area was closed for more than an hour but by Monday morning, the accident scene was cleared.

Authorities said the driver will likely face charges in connection with the accident.
